Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading multi-disciplinary property consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their growing Bristol team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a planner with 2+ years’ experience who is looking to take the next step in their consultancy career, gain greater project exposure and continue developing their technical and client-facing experience.

The Role
n
Joining an established planning team, you’ll work across a varied portfolio of projects covering Residential, Retail, Healthcare, Automotive & Roadside and Commercial sectors.
n
Your responsibilities will include:

- Supporting and managing the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals and pre-application enquiriesn • Undertaking planning appraisals and providing planning advice to clientsn • Researching and interpreting planning policy, legislation and local planning mattersn • Preparing planning reports, statements and supporting documentationn • Liaising with Local Planning Authorities, statutory consultees, consultants and other stakeholdersn • Attending site visits, client meetings, project meetings and planning committees where requiredn • Supporting planning negotiations and progressing applications through the planning processn • Providing clear and commercially focused planning advicen • Managing your own workload and delivering projects within agreed deadlinesn • Maintaining high standards of work in line with internal QA proceduresn • Supporting client relationship management and wider business development activity

The Candidate
n
We’re looking for a motivated planning professional with at least 2 years’ relevant experience who is keen to progress within a leading consultancy.
n
You’ll ideally have:
n
- n
- 2+ years’ experience within town planningn • Previous consultancy or relevant planning experiencen • A degree in Town Planning or a related subjectn • Experience with planning applications, appeals and/or pre-application advicen • A strong understanding of the UK planning system and planning policyn • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsn • Strong organisational and time management skillsn • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlinesn • A proactive and commercially aware approachn • MRTPI status or a clear ambition to work towards chartershipn • A genuine interest in developing your career within planning consultancy
