Analytics Engineer – Finance

Overview

As the founding analytics engineer in Finance, you own the data infrastructure during a pivotal transformation. You will shape analytics capabilities using Python, DBT, SQL, and Databricks to boost month-end close and inform capital decisions. This greenfield role partners with Finance leadership to build scalable, compliant analytics that support growth and IPO readiness. You’ll work autonomously to drive data quality and deliver strategic insights with measurable impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analytical features for Finance leadership
• Build and optimise production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines with DBT, Databricks, and SQL
• Create scalable data models and analytics solutions
• Establish data quality and testing practices to prevent errors reach stakeholders
• Collaborate with Finance to translate business needs into technical implementations
• Advocate for modern data practices and continuous improvement of the stack

Key requirements

• Hands-on production experience building and optimising ETL/ELT pipelines (min 3 years)
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; strong experience with DBT or equivalent tool
• Experience with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms; willingness to ramp quickly
• Strong understanding of data modelling and analytics architecture
• Comfort working autonomously and managing priorities with ambiguity
• Demonstrated commitment to data quality, testing and validated work
