We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Carpentry Lecturer to join a Further Education college in Essex, delivering high-quality training to the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced trades professional who wants to move into education, or for an existing lecturer looking for a new permanent position.

The Role

As a Carpentry Lecturer, you will:

• Deliver engaging practical and theory-based Carpentry & Joinery lessons
• Teach learners across relevant Carpentry and Joinery programmes
• Plan and prepare lessons and practical workshop activities
• Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback
• Monitor learner progress and support achievement
• Maintain accurate learner and assessment records
• Ensure a safe, professional and well-managed workshop environment
• Use your industry experience to prepare learners for employment in the construction sector

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong practical Carpentry & Joinery experience
• A relevant industry qualification
• Good knowledge of workshop practices and Health & Safety
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine interest in supporting and developing learners
• Previous teaching, training or lecturing experience is desirable

Experienced carpenters and joiners looking to move into Further Education are encouraged to apply. A teaching qualification may be available or supported depending on experience and the requirements of the role.
