Maintenance Team Leader

Overview

In this hands-on leadership role, you will head maintenance across multiple sites, ensuring safe, reliable and compliant operations. You’ll manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers and contractors, driving a proactive maintenance culture and real-time problem solving. Based in Northwich with regional site travel, you’ll collaborate closely with operations to keep critical equipment performing and safety standards high. You will shape maintenance strategy and continuously improve performance in a FTSE 100 environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multi-skilled team of engineers and contractors across sites
• Own maintenance planning, delivery, safety, efficiency and compliance
• Drive proactive maintenance through continuous improvement and root cause analysis
• Support operations by ensuring reliability of critical equipment and systems
• Manage risk via work prioritisation, safe systems of work and site assessments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors and stakeholders to deliver service excellence
• Monitor KPI performance and use data to inform improvements
• Ensure documentation, audit readiness and regulatory compliance
• Promote a strong health and safety culture

Key requirements

• Full driving licence (essential)
• Recognised engineering qualification (electrical, mechanical or instrumentation)
• Hands-on leadership style; approachable and supportive
• Clear technical know-how for overseeing repairs and fault-finding
• Commitment to continuous improvement and safe, reliable operations
• Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance standards
