Solution Engineer (Aeron and Capital Markets)

Overview

In this role, you will serve as an ambassador for Adaptive, delivering high-quality capital markets solutions. You will work with clients and cross-functional teams to ensure technical excellence and trusted relationships. You’ll contribute to design, architecture, and testing approaches that scale, while coaching others and upholding standards. This position offers the chance to influence delivery across complex, latency-sensitive domains and to grow within a collaborative engineering culture.

Responsibilities

• Represent Adaptive with clients and build long-term, trusted relationships
• Coach and mentor team members to foster growth and improvement
• Own delivery quality and ensure solutions meet Adaptive standards
• Apply best practices in design and development (e.g., separation of concerns)
• Advocate testing approaches and define team standards
• Define performant and resilient architecture informed by domain and client needs
• Advocate for technical decisions to team, clients, and stakeholders
• Lead adherence to software development lifecycle processes and timelines
• Escalate and articulate risks to team, management, and clients

Key requirements

• Strong communication skills
• Experience mentoring and supporting team members
• Significant capital markets software experience in Java with high performance/low latency
• Experience using Aeron in high-performance contexts
• Familiarity with data structures (sets, maps, queues)
• Experience in Order Management Systems, Execution Management Systems, Smart Order Routing, Trading Venues & Exchanges, Matching Engines, Algo Containers, Risk Management, FIX Gateways
• Agile environment experience and mature SDLC
• Distributed systems and consensus algorithms, event-driven architecture, replicated state machines
