Senior Professional Indemnity Underwriter

Overview

In this role you will lead the build-out of a large-risk PI proposition for the London market, creating and scaling a new book from near standstill. You will work with top-tier brokers, shape underwriting strategy, and own the development of complex binder and co-insurance placements. You’ll be the go-to person for non-standard deals, driving market relevance and demonstrating where the business should head. This is a high-impact, career-defining opportunity to build something truly new and commercially-important.

Responsibilities

• Originate and grow a large-risk PI portfolio
• Build and own broker relationships at the top end of the market
• Structure and write complex risks across binder and co-insurance placements
• Shape underwriting strategy
• Be the person people go to when the deal isn’t straightforward

Key requirements

• Established PI underwriter with credibility in the London market
• Known (or recognised) by the brokers that matter
• Commercially sharp; enjoys the deal, not just the detail
• Motivated by building something rather than maintaining it
• Has built something before but seeks greater control or pace
