School Caretaker

We are looking for a dedicated and reliable School Caretaker with strong experience in maintaining safe, clean, secure and welcoming school environments. The role involves general repairs, grounds maintenance, health and safety checks, opening and securing the site, liaising with the contractors and responding to maintenance issues. The successful candidate will be proactive, trustworthy and committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff and visitors.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a school or educational environment or a similar practical role.
• Ability to identify hazards, report defects and take appropriate action to maintain a safe environment.
• Ability to work independently, use own initiative and respond effectively to unexpected problems.
• Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Reliable, flexible and willing to work as part of a team.
• Good standard of general education including GCSE English and Maths or Level 2 or 3 qualification in Facilities Management, Property Maintenance or a related trade.
