Overview
We’re looking for a Leisure Attendant to assist the Sports Centre Manager in the smooth running of the centre, taking charge of the site on a daily basis to ensure excellent customer service and the safety of staff and customers. The role includes daily duties such as lifeguarding, running reception, membership administration, customer queries, cleaning and first aid.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Sports Centre Manager in developing customer relationships and creating a quality customer experience.
- Ensure the highest standard of customer care and service delivery.
- Handle complaints and issues appropriately and work with the Manager to resolve them.
- Perform lifeguarding duties in line with centre and national standards.
- Complete required training to maintain competence for the role.
- Work shifts including weekends as necessary.
- Support the manager in centre operations to keep the facility operational at all times.
- Maintain a safe environment for customers and staff, meeting health and safety standards.
- Lead by example, setting standards for visiting lifeguard staff.
- Assist in delivering centre swimming lessons when required.
- Conduct membership sales and administration.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the manager.
- Collaborate on new initiatives and ideas with the manager.
- Hold the centre key, open and secure the facility at the end of shift.
- Provide visible leadership and motivate staff to complete daily tasks.
- Deliver gym inductions and fitness testing, offering advice to customers and staff.
Qualifications
- In possession of or in the process of gaining an RLSS NPLQ qualification.
- Preferred experience within the leisure industry or a related role.
- Interest in sport and the leisure sector.
- Requirement to obtain an advanced DBS certificate prior to offer.
- Competent swimmer.
