Overview

As a Senior Consultant in Deloitte’s Major Programmes practice, you will lead and shape complex transformation programmes across industries, partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver end-to-end outcomes. You’ll manage diverse teams, drive engagement plans, and unlock client value through strategic propositions. This role combines industry insight with cross-disciplinary methods to anticipate change and deliver measurable impact. You will contribute to business development and help shape best-practice thinking in major programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams to design, shape and deliver strategically significant programmes from end to end
• Manage diverse project teams and engagement plans, including critical paths and interdependencies
• Identify opportunities to unlock client value through Deloitte services and propositions
• Lead in priority accounts and industry communities to shape account strategies and bids
• Design, implement, and operate programme controls (reporting, RAID, financial management)
• Own quality, risk, and governance, escalating risks where appropriate
• Develop and coach project teams, acting as People Leader and mentor
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite, as a subject matter expert
• Apply industry knowledge, tools, and technologies to address programme challenges
• Contribute to business development by bids and proposals, and enhance crafts and offerings
• Bring competitor insight, industry trends, and best-practice thinking to clients
• Develop Major Programmes crafts, capabilities, and propositions for industry relevance
• Lead design and development of major programmes (strategy, setup, delivery, contracts)
• Collaborate within Deloitte teams aligned to shared values

Key requirements

• Experience delivering large-scale, complex transformation programmes in private sector
• End-to-end digital/technology-enabled transformations, including ERP and agile/scrum delivery
• Business development experience (bids/proposals)
• Experience in enterprise transformation offices or program/portfolio offices
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage programme financials and contracts
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management across organisations
• Mentoring and coaching skills, with ability to develop teams
• Self-motivated with initiative and problem-solving skills
• Practical experience with generative AI tools and technologies for efficient work
• Ability to work with C-suite and senior stakeholders as trusted adviser
• Preferred: experience with major/large-scale programmes recovery or reshaping challenged programmes
