Associate Accountant

Overview

In this role you will support the Finance team in Aberdeen to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient operations. You will work with cross-functional colleagues to analyse balance sheet accounts, prepare reports and VAT returns, and manage accruals. The position sits at the heart of Expro’s finance function, contributing to responsible financial stewardship and professional development within a collaborative, values-driven culture. You will help sustain high standards of accuracy and ethics while supporting a growing, international business.

Responsibilities

• Analyse balance sheet accounts monthly
• Track and maintain balance sheet control accounts
• Liaise with operational departments to resolve questions
• Process UK VAT Return
• Prepare accurate weekly/monthly reports
• Prepare monthly revenue accruals
• Liaise with team and other departments to resolve issues
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery policies; report violations if necessary

Key requirements

• Previous work experience within a finance environment
• Working knowledge of SAP or a similar Finance package
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication with cross-business stakeholders
• Proactive with the ability to work independently and in a team
