Principal Electrical Engineer, London

Overview

As a Principal Electrical Engineer in our London practice, you will lead electrical design across LV power, lighting, containment and life safety within a diverse project mix. You will guide technical direction, manage a project portfolio and contribute to business development while collaborating with mechanical and public health teams. This role offers visibility into how the practice grows and operates at a senior level. You’ll work on high-impact, client-facing projects that shape building services for mixed-use, residential and commercial schemes, leveraging your leadership to drive quality and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across LV power, lighting, small power, containment and life safety systems
• Perform load calculations and develop electrical design solutions
• Drive Revit electrical models and coordinate with MEP disciplines
• Provide technical leadership across the discipline and oversee project portfolio
• Contribute to business development and client-facing opportunities
• Influence practice growth and strategic direction across projects

Key requirements

• Principal or associate director level experience
• Building services electrical design background
• Experience with cross-disciplinary coordination (mechanical, public health)
• Exposure to mixed-use, residential and commercial projects and IES
