Optometrist

This is a part-time 9-month fixed-term contract for an Optometrist to join our Hospital Optometry team.

Location: University Hospital Coventry (UHCW) and Hospital of St Cross, Rugby.

Key Responsibilities

• Work 22.5 hours per week with additional Saturday-morning work on a rotational basis.
• Provide core optometric services: routine, diagnostic, paediatric refraction, theatre refractions, specialist medical contact lens management (keratoconus, post-graft, high myopia/hyperopia, cosmetic, diagnostic).
• Deliver visual-impairment rehabilitation, in-house spectacle dispensing and eye casualty triage service.
• Support the educational programme and train ophthalmologists, nurses and other staff.
• Assist with Saturday-morning eye casualty triage service.

Requirements

• Open to newly qualified or experienced Optometrists.
• Must provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or GP.
