Specialist Speech & Language Therapist

Position Overview

Seeking a forward‑thinking Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist for the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team at Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves managing a caseload across the reablement hub and stroke transitional unit, working with a broad range of complex conditions and contributing to the development of the SALT service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide evidence‑based assessment and intervention for patients with eating, drinking or communication difficulties as part of a seven‑day service.
• Manage caseload and prioritise care within the reablement hub and stroke transitional unit.
• Supervise Band 5 / assistant staff and deputise for clinical team leads.
• Collaborate within the multidisciplinary team, attending ward‑based board rounds and weekly MDT meetings.
• Support service development through internal and external projects.
• Utilise expertise in dysphagia, communication, and other specialities, including participation in videofluoroscopic and FEES training programmes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead within an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience in a seven‑day service and managing complex rehabilitation caseloads.
