Consultant Community Paediatrics

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES — clinical role

• Provide 2 Community Paediatric clinic sessions, one special school clinic session, alternating with a complex health care needs clinic each week, while allocating time for administration.
• Conduct comprehensive paediatric health, developmental, and ADHD assessments.
• Liaise appropriately with schools, allied health professionals, and other agencies.
• Support and report to the Special Education Needs and Disability team for patients.
• Complete child safeguarding medical examinations and provide reports/attendance to conferences, meetings, and court as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES — Risk and Clinical Governance Lead for the department and maintaining professional competence

• Participate in clinical governance activities, including audits and other supporting activities directed by the service needs.
• Respond to and engage with complaints or investigations within the department.
• Attend statutory, essential, and mandatory training.
• Maintain up‑to‑date child safeguarding training in accordance with Trust requirements.
