2nd/3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £60,000 – 70,000 per year

Requirements

• Active Developed Vetting (DV) clearance that is current and transferable
• Proven experience in a 2nd/3rd line infrastructure support or engineering role
• Strong Wintel infrastructure support experience within enterprise environments
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
• In-depth knowledge of VMware vSphere / ESXi
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across core infrastructure technologies
• Experience working within secure, enterprise, government, or defence environments
• Ability to work full-time onsite in London
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience is desirable
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions is desirable
• Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools such as SCOM or equivalent is desirable
• Exposure to highly secure, classified, or air-gapped environments is desirable
• Experience supporting mission-critical systems and services is desirable

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for Windows-based infrastructure and core services
• Administer and support Active Directory environments, including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user/device management
• Support and maintain VMware virtualised infrastructure environments
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex infrastructure incidents and problems
• Perform system patching, upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management activities
• Implement and maintain security best practices within a highly regulated environment
• Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and operational runbooks
• Work closely with infrastructure, network, and security teams to support business-critical services
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and infrastructure optimisation projects
• Participate in technical escalations and provide support for major incidents when required
