Role Description
The Operations Manager role at 2Works is a full-time, on-site position based in Cleckheaton. The Operations Manager oversees daily operational activities, including planning and coordinating traffic management projects, scheduling teams and specialist vehicles, and ensuring that all works adhere to industry standards and safety regulations. This role manages resource allocation, monitors project performance, and supports continuous improvement in processes, equipment utilisation, and service delivery. The Operations Manager collaborates closely with project managers, field supervisors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality requirements. Additional responsibilities include maintaining compliance with Sector Scheme requirements, supporting staff development, and contributing to operational strategy and reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience in operations management, preferably within traffic management, construction, highways, or a related infrastructure environment.
- Strong skills in planning, scheduling, and resource coordination for multiple projects and teams.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, traffic management standards, and Sector Scheme requirements, or willingness to develop expertise.
- Proficiency in using operational and planning software; familiarity with computer-aided design tools is an advantage.
- Effective leadership and people management skills, including team supervision, performance management, and staff development.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, make data-informed decisions, and work under time and operational constraints.
- Valid UK driving licence and flexibility to visit sites as needed.
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in operations, traffic management, or project management are beneficial.
