Here, at GXO, we’re looking for a Shift Manager to join our Primark operation in Lutterworth on a 9-month Fixed Term Contract. Reporting into the Operations Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day warehouse operation, ensuring customer expectations, service levels, and operational targets are consistently achieved. You’ll lead through your Team Leaders, driving performance, engagement, and continuous improvement across the shift while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

This is a full-time, 9-month fixed term contract working on a 4 on and 4 off shift from 06:00 to 18:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead warehouse operations to ensure daily objectives, customer requirements, and service level agreements are achieved
  • Plan labour requirements effectively, managing resource levels, holidays, sickness absence, and operational volumes
  • Monitor operational performance in real time, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to maintain productivity and service
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers, resolving queries and ensuring clear communication across shifts
  • Coach, develop, and support Team Leaders and colleagues while promoting a positive, safe, and high-performing culture

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Previous leadership experience within a warehousing, logistics, fulfilment, or ecommerce environment
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate, engage, and develop teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with customers and operational teams
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving, performance management, and continuous improvement
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage changing operational demands, and deliver results through KPIs
