The Opportunity

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking Structural Engineers at Design Engineer and Project Engineer level to join its expanding structural engineering teams. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, with responsibility and career progression increasing according to experience.

You will be involved in the design, analysis, coordination and delivery of structural engineering projects across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Design structural elements in steel, concrete, timber and masonry in accordance with Eurocodes.
• Prepare and review structural calculations using hand calculations and specialist engineering software.
• Contribute to complex structural designs, including foundations, transfer structures, torsional beams and flat slabs.
• Prepare specifications, technical reports and project documentation.
• Coordinate structural design with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Support tendering activities and undertake site investigations and inspections.
• Prepare BCAR documentation, technical reports and Designer Risk Assessments.
• Ensure designs and project activities comply with health and safety requirements.
• Support project delivery in line with agreed programmes, budgets and quality standards.
• For Project/Senior Engineers, coordinate project teams, mentor graduates and technicians, and liaise directly with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Approximately 2–12 years' relevant structural engineering experience, depending on level.
• Strong structural design and analysis capabilities.
• Experience designing structures using Eurocodes across a range of construction materials.
• Strong communication, technical report-writing and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Chartered Engineer status or progression towards chartership with Engineers Ireland is desirable, particularly at Project/Senior Engineer level.

Desirable Experience

Knowledge of structural engineering and BIM software such as Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis, Tekla Structural Designer, CADS A3D, Tedds, AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Site 3D, Navisworks and Common Data Environments would be advantageous.
