Job overview
Applications are invited for the role of Paediatric Audiology Deputy Service Lead. We are looking for a highly experienced Paediatric Audiologist to join our forward thinking and friendly Audiology Team at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The department holds IQIPS accreditation and the post holder will be responsible for the quality assurance of the Paediatric Audiology Service, ensuring that our service users’ needs are met through the delivery of high quality care.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be a highly experienced specialised paediatric audiologist who will provide paediatric audiological evaluation and rehabilitation, including aetiological investigations.
- They will be involved in managing the operation of the Paediatric Audiology Service.
- The post holder will provide clinical supervision and training to junior members of staff, work autonomously, should show initiative and manage own caseload
- The post holder should already hold, or be working towards Clinical Scientist registration with the HCPC or registration with the AHCS.

Person specification
- Clinical Registration
- MSc or equivalent
- 1st / 2nd class Hons degree or equivalent
- Paediatric audiology qualification or training
- PhD
- On Higher Specialist Scientist register
Experience
- Proven experience in specialist area.
- Experience of training Scientific, Medical and technical staff.
- High level of knowledge of all aspects of specialist subject.
- Evidence of active CPD
- Ability to learn from experience.
- Peer reviewed research publications
Skills/knowledge/ abilities
- High level of technical competence and ability to supervise staff in specialist service
- Knowledge of current trends in Audiology provision.
- Competence in PC word processing, spreadsheet and database software
- Ability to carry out development projects
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Ability to develop personal IT skills as required.
