SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunities – St Helens Special Schools Resource Bases and Alternative Provision. September 2026 starts. Pay: From £14 per hour (depending on experience). Location: St Helens and surrounding areas. Contract: Full-Time, Part-Time, Long-Term & Temp-to-Perm opportunities. Aspire People is working with specialist SEND schools, resource provisions and alternative education settings across St Helens, recruiting dedicated Teaching Assistants.

Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions.
- Support pupils both in the classroom and around the school environment.
- Deliver sensory, communication and life-skills activities.
- Promote independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
- Assist with personal care where required (not all roles).
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and wider multidisciplinary teams.
- Record progress and contribute to individual support plans.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in education, SEND, care, support work, youth work or childcare.
- Calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations.
- Passionate about inclusive education and supporting individual needs.
- Strong communicators who enjoy working as part of a team.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Able to provide professional references and complete an Enhanced DBS check if required.
